Green synthesis of nanomaterials.

I am interested in the use of commercial and agricultural wasted as raw material or reagent to obtaining several kinds of nanoparticles.

I have worked with humic-like substances obtained from urban wastes in the synthesis of hydroxyapatite/iron oxide nanocomposites. And the use of  Yerba Mate (a very common waste in Argentina) in the syntesis of Silver, Magnetite, Carbon Quantum Dots and Silice in a single process.

Nanomaterials for environmental applications.

The use of nanomaterials in soil and water remediation is a topic I am really interested in. I have studied the adsorption of several metals and organic molecules on different nanoparticles. I also have studied about the degradation of organic pollutants in water due the effect of nanomaterials.

Magnetic nanoparticles.

Magnetic nanoparticles such as iron oxide or zero valent iron nanoparticles are very attractive due their versatility and their magnetic properties. I am very interested in the study of the change of their magnetic properties due severals parameters, as size, coating agent and so on.
