D. Fabio Mercado
I am a Colombian scientific born in Sincelejo, a town ubicated in the north coast which is located 100 milles south Cartagena. I am a Chemical Engenieer (Universidad Nacional de Colombia - Colombia) with environmental emphasis.
I get my Ph.D. degree (Universidad Nacional de La Plata - Argentina) in 2016. On my thesis I worked in obtaining several kinds of nanomaterials, among them magnetite, carbon, silice and hydroxyapatite doped with iron oxide. All of them for environmental applications such as metals adsorption and degradation of pollutants in waterbody.

Right now I am with a PostDoctoral position at Georgetown University (Washington DC - USA) working with the dechlorination of aqueous pollutants using iron nanoparticles in a polymeric matrix.
